MISSION
The High school of Science and Technology is starting a new vocational program for students. Students participating in this program will arrive at the school at 10:25 a.m. and take two academic classes per day. After they complete the classes, they will go to Putnam Academy to learn a vocational trade from 3:00-6:00 p.m.

The Metal Fabrication program is a great option for students who would like to learn how to weld, fabricate, and work with metal. This is a great opportunity for students who are interested in Mechanical Engineering or going into the metal fabrication trade.
The Health Assisting program is a great option for students who would like to go into the medical field.
If you are interested in participating in one of these programs, please contact Mrs. Quinlan. She can be reached at: quinlana@springfieldpublicschools.com
If you have questions about one of the programs, please contact Mr. Fortune. He can be reached at: fortunem@springfieldpublicschools.com

Both programs are rigorous. Students who graduate from one of these programs will leave with certifications in that field. The certification allows students to get their foot in the door of a company that works within the trade. It also helps determine starting pay.
The two programs being offered are Metal Fabrication and Health Assisting.
